I've just started running again, after a couple of years off due to ill health. I've got to week 2 and am remembering just how much I love it, but now my knees have decided to ruin my fun! I've got pain on the inside of both my legs at my knees. Has anyone any ideas about what might be going on?

New runners knee I guess. If we have not been running our legs protest at first. In the early weeks there is walking interspersed with very short spells of running. I you go nice and steady you should be ok
I hope so anyway. Good luck
I had exactly this symptom when I started C25K. It was so bad at about Week 2, the pain made it almost impossible to run at all. Don't worry though - it will go eventually. Just take extra rest days if need be, and your knees will gradually strengthen again. I think it's just that running uses these 'inner knee' muscles in a way that we're not used to, and they have to build up strength gradually. Keep going!
Yes, I have the exact same thing at Week 2! I'm currently on my third week of physio as I can't put weight on my knee due to ligament inflammation.
It has been caused by having the wrong shoes as I over pronate so please get your gait analysed & if you already have, have it done again as I had mine done & it was wrong!
My physio has prescribed ice twice a day wrapped in a damp tea towel, volterol or anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times per day & she is doing massage & ultra-sound once a week.
I hope are on the mend soon, I can't wait to start again

Thanks for your replies - I feel better knowing how common this is, but still think it's not fair! Went out again this morning and I definitely knew my knees were there - fortunately attempting to breathe and just keep going took my mind off of it though...
