I posted about this a few days ago; I've had sinusitis recently and I feel totally fine now but I've still got a kind of wheezy chest and cough, so I dont know whether to try a run today and see how I go or to wait til it's totally cleared up?
Should I run?: I posted about this a few days... - Couch to 5K
Should I run?
I returned to running yesterday after a few weeks off due to doing too much too soon. I also had similar symptoms and it didn't really affect me. I did have a few spluttery coughing fits which weren't pleasant but it didn't stop me.
I always think with these sorts of questions that if you are considering it then it is time to do it :-).
Go on, go for it, but take it nice and slow. Your fitness might have dropped a little so take it easy.
Are you asthmatic? If you are, then step away from the running shoes. It's never a good idea to run with respiratory problems because they're likely to get worse. Your call, but personally I'd bide my time until the wheeze has gone
I think the standard advice is to run if you have a head cold but not if it's settled on your lungs. On the other hand I got a cold a week after graduation and I was coughing a lot. I took a week off and started running again before the cough had completely gone. I don't think I was wheezing though. Not really much help for you! Why not just go out really slowly and just walk if you have any problems? You sound as if you want to!
