If anyone wasn't lucky in the ballot the North of England Children's Cancer Research are offering places if you pledge to raise £200 sponsorship. This includes your entry fee. I'm running for them again this year as my 5 yr old grandson has leukaemia and is being treated in Newcastle.

Would love to do the GNR but it is just two weeks before the Berlin marathon and I dare not! Maybe next year? Hope your grandson is doing well x

At least it's cheaper than the "minimum sponsorhip pledge" (aka "price") for the London Marathon :)

I know it's a good cause and all, but isn't there something fundamentally wrong when charities change from "please help us" to "this is the price we're going to charge you, and if you can't collect the money from your friends you will have to pay it yourself" ?
