Just booked my train tickets to Leeds for the Mo-Run on the 22nd. Very excited to be doing my first ever organised run, although starting to get anxious about the "killer" hill at the end. Hope they don't mean that literally! Wish me luck
Frisson of excitement : Just booked my train... - Couch to 5K
Frisson of excitement
time will fly by till the 22nd will be an amazing experience for you
Wow, bet it all feels very real now you've booked the ticket, how exciting? How long is the race?
Cheers mdear. I was supposed to be running with my sister, but she's been suffering with sciatica for a couple of months and hasn't got the all clear to run again from her physio. She's hoping to be able to walk the course, but if not, my nephew may run with (or more likey, miles in front of) me
I'll definitely be wearing a tash and possibly a tutu, if I can find my daughter's old one!! Hoping to finally meet Steve on the day, if he's ankle's fit enough and I know there's someone else from the forum doing it, but I can't remember who (the memory's going -it's me age !) Should be an exhausting laugh. I'm expecting Steve to pass me twice as he does the 10k and I do the 5k!
Good luck ancient mum ! You'll be great and get that fab mo-run medal! Exciting stuff !
Very exciting, dont forget you can always do a little break walk up the hill! They really help you will do great and I am sure it will be a great race for a great cause
The 22nd! I am on a slap-up meal out, so will think of you as I'm chomping at my posh nosh
Don't work too hard Mum!
Have a great day! Yes it's so exciting int it. I bet you can hardly wait
Oh I'm jealous. I wanted to do the MoRun in Bristol next Saturday but have a prior social thingy I can't move, so I'll be thinking of you when you do yours! It looks like a lot of fun, and you get a medal! I'm very shallow and want a medal!
Good luck!
OOh Mo-run! Wish there was one near me! Good luck!
Cheers Curly. I know what you mean about there not being one locally. I'm doing mine in Yorkshire but I live in East Anglia!! Mind you, I'd still do it in Leeds even if there was one in the local park, because I'm running in memory of my Dad and the family are all in Yorkshire. It's going to be an emotional day, methinks
Good luck.
Not sure what a Mo-run is, but good luck any way! . x
Oh this will be such fun! There's nothing like the atmosphere of a race to get you raring to go, you'll love it. The medal is superb.
How did I miss this EM ? Oh , you must be getting very excited and nervous too now, its all becoming real
Is it Hill 60 ? ( cue scary music ) Yep it is a killer but is it included in the route ? Blimey !
I have very fond memories of Roundhay Park, used to go there a lot, and I remember seeing Michael Jackson there many moons ago
It'll be worth it when you have that shiny bling round your neck
Is Miles on the IC ? Hope he's okay soon xxx
Yep I'm excited but also, as of today, full of cold and off running (so much for my pre-run preparation. )
Yes, it is Hill 60, or at least I think it is. It's years since I've been to Roundhay park so I can't be certain from the course map, but I'm pretty sure it is Waaaahhhh!! Just going to have to take it very very very slow if it is, and pack some crampons.
Yep M_Y is on the IC with a foot injury but has found himself what seems to be a great physio, so hopefully he'll be back running again very soon.
