Panicking!!!!

Saw the physio about my left knee a couple of weeks ago because it was giving me niggles. She gave me some strengthening exercises and everything has been OK. However, got out of bed this morning and my right knee is really painful when I stand or sit!!! It has never given me problems before! Never hurts when running at all! Terrified that I will have to stop running!

You do need to get stronger to support those running legs, hence your physio giving you strengthening exercises. I do Jillian Michaels exercise DVD at home to help build me up

You will get aches and pains as you're putting pressure on your body, that maybe it's not been used to for a long time, so there has to be a period of adjustment

I'm sure you'll be fine

You might find that you've been favouring your sore left knee and so have ended up putting more strain on your right knee. If that's the case it should resolve itself as your left improves. Alternatively, you could just have slept awkwardly and the pain will walk off in a couple of hours. Good luck :)

I hope you are right Ancientmum. I have a 10k in 4 weeks!

If you have been doing knee strengthening exercise for left knee do some for right as well perhaps a few less but its always a good idea to get an even balance. Would suggest if you are doing 3 x10 repeats for left do 2 x 10 repeats for right. Hope it settles which I'm sure it will if you haven't done anything obvious to injure it.

I can't add anything to what the clever ladies have already said, but I do hope it settles down soon-ish.
