A great tip for building lung strength is blowing up balloons every day. It works wonders!

Then when you're actually running, concentrate on breathing OUT. Your body will deal with breathing in what it needs, but if you concentrate on breathing out as far as you comfortably can you'll make sure that every in breath gives you a full lungful of nice clean air.

But above all, keep going. Before long, something will 'click' in your head and you'll suddenly realise it isn't a problem any more. Sorry - I know that probably doesn't help a lot, but it will happen. We've all been there.

Good luck :-)

I struggled to nose breath in so gave up and now just breath in by mouth/out by mouth, I just have to watch out for insects in the summer time ;) The main thing is to relax, don't think too much about it and all will come together.

I was getting bad stitch during wk3. So during wk4 I really focused on my breathing rather than the pain in my legs with a bit of research and something Laura says during the podcast has helped me out massively.

dont be fussed about counting or anything, but focus on pushing your tummy OUT as you breathe in .... this forces your diaphram down which helps draw air into your lungs.. then as you breathe out relax your tummy so then when you breathe in again you are ready to push it out again....

.... sounds odd, and feels really odd (almost back to front - I have always breathed out and let my tummy out) .... but - it'd breathing so you can practice anytime not just when out running.

above all keep going & it does click into place evenutually
