Collected sleep apnea equipment

Went for 1st appoinment sleep.apnea got to use equipment today..respiratory consultant went through my recent pulmonary test gas exchange he said 59 should be between 60_70 copd top end moderate...he explained far better than my consultant

He said as I stopped smoking my emphysima should get no worse...he is a respiritory consultant...do all consultants have a different view of this disease...some say yes some say no.

Even nurses disagree but everything on BLF NHS WEBSITE Say progressive???? NHS WEBSITE said stop smoking can help stop copd getting worse, but still says progressive...the outcome part of NHS WEBSITE said outcome treatment for some the condition that does not severely impact a person's life, whilst for others even with treatment continue to get worse.

Any comments please

Hi Emily, glad you got some more advice. I would hold on to the ones that are encouraging to you & dismiss those that bring you down. Just keep doing all you can to better your health. We're all different & all of life progresses. We just need to stay in the present. Hope you enjoy your day.

What he said makes no sense but I did pray to god before I went that I would get no worse and that I do not have sleep apnea

Emily61, Sleep Apnea....is not that bad. It can be if you don't use your C pap machine. The majority of people who take a sleep test have apnea even if very little. All sized person's have sleep apnea. That's large men thing is a misnomer.

They are so many more horrible things and diseases you could get, this is not one of them,

Take care, stay well,

Meg🌻

Please excuse me for trying to let you know if you do have it,....it's really not that bad, I have had it for 5 years, my sleep has never been better, my skin is the best it's been, my eyes look bright. I feel bright eyed, brush tailed...the energizer bunny has nothing on me.

Hi Emily. You will find that the CPAP equipment will make all the difference to your condition. Like most people you will find using it a little strange in the beginning. Just stick with it and don't forget to have your flu Jan. Best wishes.

How is your breathing emphysema

I was first diagnosed accidentally by CT looking at my gallbladder...gallbladder was fine...so far, so good...I eat healthy, vegan, exercise, golf...nothing has changed in 5 years still the same....hope it stays that way...I stay away from smoke, as many environmental things as possible.

A Cpap...and sleep apnea has nothing to do with emphysema or any other lung disease. Many people have sleep apnea. That have clean bills of heath.

Take care

Meg

I am mild/ moderate. I have a Cpap machine. I am not a big person. I have used it 5 years. If I may suggest, could you read on Sleep Apnea? I think that would really help you.( I just looked at my sleep test!!)
