Well .. I fell for it. MDVIP program is not what they say it is.

So, guys...I go to this expensive new Dr. Mrs. MDVIP!!! What a bunch of rubbish. In the first two weeks I found out how they advertise all these wonderful, and unreal things...which is actually what I say..UNREAL

Of course they tell you it's 24/7 phone calls for anything at all. I called about insurance, and she blasted me. HOWEVER, she said I could call and ask about "what to eat for dinner." WTH???

I am not giving money to this organization. I filed a complaint, and exited the program. She lied to me to my face. What's for dinner is fine, but don't ask about money???? I don't thinkkkkkk sooooo!!! I'm outta' there.

I am not that dumb. I will find someone who cares eventually. It is hard to find a Dr. who truly cares anymore.

I have tendonitis in my elbow now, and I 'did' find a good Dr. for that....Thank God.!! :)

I hope you are all well. I haven't been online in a while.

HUGS and Prayers,

Phyllis

Being in the UK I had never heard of this before so I googled it. They do advertise calls 24/7 don't they. It seemed to me the doctors joining it were chancers and not very reputable characters. You are better off out of it. x

I SO agree. They are offering things they have no intention of doing for you. It's actually sickening. Happy to get out of that racket.

Sounds like a scam and I am glad you have seen through it and saved yourself a lot of money. x

Have missed you, kiddo! Sad about the jokers. So sad, like we don't have enough to deal with. Hang tough.

If you share where you are, maybe people can suggest a doc? We do that all the time on another group I am in and it's so helpful. Best of luck .. a caring doc is way too important.

If you have tendinitis, Penetrex is great for that. A little expensive, but after you apply it for 10 - 14 days, you can use it less. Any type of arnica gel is also good, but the penetrex is great!

Sorry you had this terrible experience. When my GP of 32 years offered this program I declined. I was already retired & never planned $1500 per year just to have him as my doctor. It was very difficult to get the particulars of this MDVIP. When I heard the fee, I was mortified. Even his receptionist confided that it was an expensive phone number, available 24/7. However loosing him after all those years especially just being diagnosed with COPD/emphysema created a terrible void in my medical treatments. Yes a Pulmonologist saw me, prescribed Advair but when I had to leave a recorded message and got no reply and then a denial from his staff that they received it, I made the decision they just do not care so never called them again. I had already quit smoking and so applied for & waited 6 months to get another Dr. This gal actually suggested prayer, asked ME what I wanted her to do for me, YIKES!

Looking for another Dr. but feeling sicker every morning. I was diagnosed in 2010. I'd love to find a competent Internist and Pulmonologist on East side of Rochester, NY.

Thank you, in advance, for any advice/help.

Lindabelle, I am pretty much in the same boat regarding a pulmonologist. I live near Batavia, NY. The only pulmonologist there is good, but the PFT he gives is nowhere near what you are supposed to have, and a 2 to 3 hour wait to see him is not unheard of.

If you find a good pulmonologist, would you mind sharing?

I may know of a few decent GP's, but they are in Batavia.

I'm relatively close to Batavia since I live in Springwater. We both are in a pickle. The GP (my Yikes! Dr.) is practicing in Canandaigua. She has not once mentioned referring me to a Pulmonologist. My original Pulmonologist was at General in Rochester at least an hour away from me. Name was Sheppard (younger guy) but no warmth. That's my subjective opinion. I may be forced into Henrietta, NY & Strong Memorial (parking nightmare and patient unfriendly).

I will let you know if I get a Pulmonologist name. In meantime will continue trying to find a caring GP close location before it's too late. No drama just fact.

Good medical care is my dream. I'm so thankful that some folks have been able to get the care they should have.

Unfortunately I cannot help with pulmonologist, I can might be able to give you a few names of a few decent PC docs in Batavia, just let me know.

So sorry that the MDVIP turned out to be an expensive scam. Being in the UK we are lucky that the NHS and GPs in he main give good treatment despite being under pressure by shortage of nurses and doctors. Hopefully you will be able to find a caring GP.

I feel your pain. I am still looking for a decent Pulmonologist, and a Gastroenterologist (who accept my insurance). My current GP is good, he really cares about his patients. He actually took the time to explain the PFT results to me, and show me my CT scan. My last Pulmonologist was too busy talking to a nurse about his problems at home, to take a few minutes to answer my questions.

There are way too many medical groups willing to give you false promises and hope, just to make a buck. It makes finding a good caring doctor even more difficult. My husband's brother-in-law was diagnosed with prostate cancer, went to a private cancer institute who then put him through a few months of very strong, very expensive treatments. Yes, he is now cancer free, but he also found out (after the fact) that the type of cancer he had was very slow growing and could have been left untreated for many, many years. They were just out for the money.

I wish you much luck in your search.
