So glad I found this site. I was diagnosed with emphysema (copd) 4 years. I have finally learned how to live with it but it was not easy. I was always a very active person and very independent. This disease has slowed me down. I am 73 and take one day at a time....

Glad to meet you. I agree it took a lot of changing on my part too. Quitting smoking was one of the hardest. I take it one day at a time & do what I can, rest & then do a little more. Bathing is a hard one too.

We got a bath chair which will fit in most showers/tubs and a rail to help me get in and out of the shower.. feel alot more confident and not nearly as tired..best money we have spent since this happened.. bathing was so hard before.. now it is a pleasure once more..

Hi I was put on O2 at night almost 5 years ago from there it has gone to when I was exercising, then to almost 24/7. I was taught the purse lip way to breath and worked it until it became natural for me. I have purchased a portable concentrator and do quite well walk a little slower and yet I seem to have a good life for some one 75 years old
