I have had a lot of the symptoms for colon cancer over the past 6 months. One doctor told me that it was probably IBS. My family doctor told me, that because of my age (59), it probably isn't IBS. I can't get a colonoscopy for 6 - 7 months (the wait list is that long). I tried going private but our government instated a law that people who have government insurance can't get private tests/surgeries. I don't know what to do.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Did you ask for another test such as FIT, FOBT, stool DNA or double-contrast Barium Enema? Having one of these tests while waiting for your colonoscopy may help provide answers. For more information on screening, visit our website: Global Colon Cancer Association GlobalCCA.org
