Am I just overthinking or could something be wrong?

I am a 23 yr male. I am not overweight and pretty and I don’t have any other underlying conditions. So for years I have always had loose fluffy stools. I never thought anything of them as I never had any additional symptoms with them and would just feel fine. Occasionally they would be more watery like on a few days or I would see a little blood on the toilet paper (not a great amount) and this would be followed by itching anus or sometimes burning sensation right after a BM but it would go away eventually. I would use the bathroom about 2-3 times a day and relatively around the same time as it would seem like my body would know when i was home or not. I never thought anything of it until I took medications that disturb your gut balance and it really made me off (I have felt much better since finishing the meds post 6 weeks) but I googled everything under the sun when I felt “off” while I was on the meds and thought about my bowel movements. I realized I very rarely ate anything with fiber as my diet mostly consisted of meat with rice and just carbs really as I was a picky eater. I do remember sometimes my poop would be firm on some days. I would exercise fine as well and never had any other symptoms like bloating or cramping. But I’ve started to up my fiber intake recently and my poop has been more often firm but idk my normal anymore. I went from pooping once a day in the morning to now maybe 2 more times a few hours later. I have little bleeding again on the toilet paper but my anus itches sometimes. Can this just be me from going from no fiber to more fiber?

This sounds like haemmorhoids that are very common and dietary change.

Hithere123x,

Our poop changes as we get older, even tough you are stiill very young. It also changes with what we eat and what medications/supplimemts we take. You may wanna ask your general practicioner about the few times you have seen blood in your stool.

I would also reccomend nothing what you have eaten when you see a significant change in your bowel movements.

Thank you! my blood isnt actually in my stool or even the toilet really. Its just a tiny amount of blood that appears on the toilet paper. i notice it happens when my stools appear to be a little thicker (sorry tmi). maybe my body just isnt use to having firm stools after having loose stools for awhile?

Similar experience. Have had hemorrhoids for a while but now I’m studying my stools constantly. I only ever had bright red blood on toilet paper. Regular BM in morning, but then they got narrow and I had to go about 3 times. I’m eating a lot of fiber now and my BM have gone back to once a day and are more compact. I’m a wreck with worry. Going to GI doctor this Friday. Going to ask for a Colonoscopy.
