Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me because I am just being told by my doctor it’s my IBS but I just want a second opinion from anyone who might suffer from the same thing. For 7 weeks now my bowel moments have been all over the place, I’ve. It actually had watery stool, I’d say it was normal but I was going 3-4 times a day instead of my normal once a day. For the past few weeks I’ve been having what I would call pellet stool and when I google it, it comes up with constipation? But can you be constipated and still go 2-3 times a day. Also my stool is getting darker but I’m not sure that it’s anything to do with blood. I have not seen any blood in my stool, I do get lower abdominal discomfort constantly when I have a flair up, but I have not lost any weight and do not feel tired which I believe are typical symptoms of cancer, just just to clear up on the advice

1. Does my stool look ‘normal’

2. Is it possible to be constipated but go 2-3 times a day, and I’m really having to strain.

3. Does anyone with IBS have symptoms like this.

Any advice would be really helpful, I also forgot to add I’m a 26 year old male.

Thanks

Hello Jacksav9 ,

Thank you for posting and I'm sorry for the symptoms you are experiencing.

What type of tests did your doctor perform on you to diagnose you with IBS?

And how long ago did you receive that diagnosis?

Everyone has different bowel habits so we can't say from a photo what's going on, but in short, if something feels off - you need to see a specialist.

There is a type of IBS where you experience both constipation and diarrhea, so that could be a possibility.

Make sure you are drinking enough water, the constipation and pellets can be a sign that you need to be hydrating more.

There is an IBS support group on this website - it may be helpful to you as well: healthunlocked.com/theibsne...

Please reach out to a specialist and let us know how it goes.
