Hello,

Please can someone help me as I think I’m really stressing myself out over nothing. Can someone help with what is all over my stool (sorry for the graphic photo.) is it blood, mucus or just from what I’m eating? And if it’s mucus is that a normal colour for an IBS suffer (diagnosed 4 years ago)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello Jacksav9,

Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry for the anxiety this is causing you. It is hard to tell from a photo exactly what is going on.

As you have been diagnosed in the past with IBS, are you under the care of a Gastroenterologist? It sounds like now would be a good time to try and get an appointment with your doctor.

Do your best to say calm, anxiety can cause additional GI issues.

Good luck - and please keep us updated.

I don't wanna freak you out but it looks like bloody mucus to me, show it to your doctor and ask for a stool test to confirm if it's blood or not.
