Hi I also have had surgery for bowel cancer and have a bag for life. also had hysterectomy at same time. this surgery was 4.5 years ago. Life is good

Hi im havi g treatment for bowel cancer for the last 5 yrs. I have a permanent bag as well. And i do self catheterisation as well. Its not that bad. Dont be scared. everything will be alright.

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry that no one would listen which meant you didn’t get diagnosed and treated as soon as possible 😔. Do you mind me asking what it was that finally made the doctors pay attention and how you are doing now?

I had my colon removed and have a bag for life. It takes a bit of getting used to at first but you soon get used to it and you get lots of help and support from the stoma nurses who also visit you at home foe a while. Please don't be scared as it's better out than in. xx
