I was on gabapentin and found it worked for me but had a bad reaction to it where I couldn't smell or taste anything. I'm now on the max dose of duloxetine and 200mg tegretol morning and night

I was put on gabapentin 5 yrs ago and had a horrible reaction to it - my teeth went black and I had the most extreme tooth pain I have ever experienced in my upper and lower jaw. Recently I was put on Duloxetine and again had an extreme reaction - after approx. 1 month the tendons in both thumbs seized up and I couldn't bend them at all and severe pain. My shoulders also were in agony... I stopped taking it and have had very disturbing withdrawal symptoms including dizzy spells (much worse than usual), a buzzing (electric shock) feeling in my head that has lasted for months, my thumbs are very gradually coming back to normal although still very painful and my shoulders are so sore I can't sleep.I have read many accounts of similar and other symptoms with Duloxetine for many people - please be aware and very careful when taking this, what I now consider to be toxic, medication . I found many accounts of very bad experiences with this drug while researching online.

I was on gabapentin for 2 years an it takes bout 2-3 weeks for to start providing pain relief but very affective. However when it is time to stop them do not listen to doctors on how to ease off them because they don’t give you enough time and you definitely need to cut them down slowly slowly.. if you don’t you will suffer really really painful withdrawals affecting your whole body. I hope this helps. After gabapentin it’s pregablin slightly better but same withdrawals.

Hi I was on Gabapentine but my neurologist changed it to Pregabalin 150 am. 75 midday and 150 mg evenings. Lyrica ( pregabaline ) works very well for me
