Anyone with CMT2A?

Hello, I've just been told my 5 year old daughter has CMT2A, which appears to be cause by an MFN2 mutation. My daughter has lower limb weakness, but walks ok and seems absolutely fine. Unfortunately having Googled CMT2A, I'm worried sick about the progression of the disease. Is there anybody who can put my mind at rest?

Hi, First things first, don't become a Google expert on CMT if you take some of the information out of context you will worry yourself to death. I was diagnosed with CMT when I was in my 20's and had no idea it ran in the family, for reasons never explained my parents chose to ignore it.

I am now in my 60's and have had a happy and active life, yes my lower limbs and hand grip are weak, sense of balance is terrible and I can't run for toffee BUT you work around these problems. Mostb important thing is to keep your daughter fit and active and keep her weight in the normal range + enjoy life
