Australian experts recommend toddlers and pre-schoolers should receive annual flu vaccinations

High rates of hospital admissions for young children with flu lead to a recommendation for annual flu vaccinations for toddlers and pre-school children in a presentation given at the recent Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Society for Infectious Diseases.

Also reported was that babies of mums who receive a top up of whooping cough vaccine are 50 per cent less likely to catch the disease

Seems we have another term to learn in addition to "Herd Immunity". "The strategy of vaccinating the mother to protect the baby is called cocooning." Worth bearing in mind if you are frequently around ankle biters.
