Diarrhoea

I was on Watch and Wait for several years. Joined this group when diagnosed.

In September I commenced treatment. I commenced Ibrutinib 420mgs. Than 2 months ago I commenced Venclexta 400mgs. Up to this last week all was good but I have now started getting Diarrhoea about 5 hours after taking the Venclexta in the morning. I take my Ibrutinib in the evening.

Has anyone else had this reaction and if so how have they managed it.

Thanks in advanced.

Yes, I did have diarrhoea and also really bad cramps with it, it was actually worse than contractions during child birth...I suffered a few times a week then it was about once a week for a long time and after that about once a month towards the end, then back to once a week.It kind of changed over time. It wasn't too severe so my doctor was never too concerned. I also have to report that this continued for about 4-5 months post treatment. Luckily I didn't work when it was the most frequent, the cramping lasted for about 15-30min, then I would empty my bowels and that was it...can you try to take it at a different time to manage the timing of it? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thanks. Have decided to change the time as it happens very suddenly with hardly any warning, I have no pain with it. So can get caught out if out and about. Which is very embarrassing.

I am on a re-treat on the BOVEN trial, with Zanubrutinib and Venetoclax, the latter being the prime cause of my diaharea. Try taking the venetoclax/venclexta 30 minutes after your evening meal and, per my oncologist's opinion, with a little fat.

Thanks.

I have started taking Venetoclax at lunch time now and a Gastro stop an hour later with great results. My specialist nurse recommended going this way. Will only do Gastro stop when going out for the day. Am so happy with doing it this way.
