Moles or Petechiae or WHAT?

Hi all. Been on brukinsa for 7 months since dx of SLL/CLL in June 2024. No side effects so far that has altered my energy and lifestyle. Don’t want to jinx myself. Anyway I have multiple red petichiae which I’ve come to accept I guess. Two days ago I noticed 5 or 6 small brown spots on my inner upper arm. Of course it alarmed me. Within days they faded and I’m thinking they might be turning into petichiae?? So weird. I see the dermatologist x2 a year but not due. Anyone experience this skin weirdness??

You can easily edit your title by clicking on ‘More’ and editing the title. I’ve done it for you.

Incidentally I’m also on Zanubrutinib and am experiencing a fair amount of petechaie too.

Moles aren't going to fade away in a couple of days :)

When blood vessels break, the amount of blood that spreads out into the tissues determines what the the bruising is called. From my.clevelandclinic.org/heal...

What is the difference between petechiae and purpura?

Petechiae are tiny, dot-like purpura. Purpura is between 4 millimeters (mm) and 10 mm in diameter. If the purpura spot is less than 4 mm wide, it’s called petechiae. Purpura larger than 1 centimeter (cm) is called ecchymoses (or bruises).

All of these fade away within a week or so, thanks to your white blood cell clean up crew.

I suspect you had some purpura that you didn't initially notice on your inner upper arm. BTKi drugs tend to cause bruising, because of the off target effect on platelet kinase reduces clotting effectiveness.
