I was diagnosed with CLL probably 10-15 years ago and will begin treatment in the next month or two.
I have been troubled with pink eye/dry eyes for over a month now. Could it possibly be related to CLL? If so, are there any home remedies to help relieve it, other than artificial tears?

Hi , my answer definitely related to CLL . I myself have experienced this last year. In fact as I started to relasp over the last two years I had a few incidents of dry ,sore itchy eyes which actually on the last occasion just before I started treatment got very bad it caused one eye to get a infection behind the eye which was so painful giving me a sec heads and stiff neck ache. Antibiotics cleared it up . Good news since starting treatment no more dry eyes or itchy pink eye .Wishing you all the best
You could try a heated eye pad (from an opthamologists). I was recommended this by my opthamologist when I had dry eye, as well as eye drops, when I suffered from dry eye while on CLL treatment (Ibrutinib plus Venetoclax). The pad apparently help unblock glands on the inside of the eye lids, realeasing protective oils onto the eyeball. Worked for me.
But I would suggest you got checked by an opthamologist. I assume my issue was probably caused by the drugs (probably the Ibrutinib) not by the CLL itself.
I too have dry eyes and I am on treatment. My doctor prescribed a gel to use which I d8d four times a day. This was working fine but then left eye was really gritty in morning once again. Yesterday I asked at pharmacy if there was another type available and she sold me one to use at night going to bed. It creates a barrier , it's a very thick but did work. XAILIN NIGHT is the name.
Just to add to the list of possibilities.. It probably isn't, but conjunctivitis is a possible symptom of Covid. If it is, knowing that won't help your eyes, but it's useful to know if you've had Covid anyway, in case of any other complications showing up in other organs.
I have very irritable eyes, so I sympathise. Hope you find an answer.
Hello, dry eyes here, diagnosed 2020, dry eyes started 2 years later. Attributed to age (66 & my Mom always had blocked tear ducks etc & runny eyes. I don't use any drops or anything, wear blue light glasses & keep tissues nearby. Eyes feel gritty but also tear alot. Cll doctor says, "not everything is cll related" but, seems like it to me lol.Take care
Heated pad and see an Opthamologist. Mine recommended drops and the heat pad because it helps to clear the grease in eyes. My eye issues predate my CLL diagnosis, but that isn’t to say it wasn’t lurking in the background.
My eyes are fine now 🤞but I try to stick to a regime and see an Opthamologist every year.
May, or may not, be related to CLL. Look up 'blepharitis' -- apparently it's pretty common in older adults. Warm compresses, thorough rinsing (eye cup) with purified water helps -- plus there's a new (expensive) drug that supposed to make a difference.
