Acalabrutinib and Swollen Feet/Ankles

First I apologise if this has been readily discussed before. My success with the search tool here leaves a lot to be desired.

For background I am on a once per day dose to reduce the impact of bruise and bleeding related side effects. I started treatment at the end of April and the reduced dose was brought in at the end of my first monthly cycle

Today my wife noticed mild swelling of my feet and ankles. I did a search through side effect listings and did see this mentioned but not universally. I assume it may be some level of lymphedema.

I wonder if any other folks here have or are experiencing this.

Many thanks

Jon

Jon,

I can never find anything either. Now just a quick random thought could it be the sudden recent hot weather we have had in the UK ? I have had puffy ankles the last couple of nights. Keep your feet raised as much as you can and drink plenty of fluids.

Thanks Colette. I am in the UK as well and it has been hot here in Wales. I had not considered heat. Also I am not too good at drinking lots of fluid but I need to try harder!

I am rubbish as well but I have found a slice of lime and an ice cube makes water more interesting. Off to pour a glass now, and you do the same.

A glass of red wine 🍷 got in the way, does that count ? 🤔

If you think it's because of lack of fluids, a trick is to do what they do in the hospital. Buy 2-3 32oz cups with a straw and fill them up each night. Then, the next morning, pull one out of the fridge and have it done by lunch. Finish the 2nd by dinner. And then wind down with either a different fluid or more water.

PS - Even if you drink morning coffee, finish the 32 oz by lunch. Early and often is normally best for fluids (especially to make sure you don't ruin overnight sleep).
