Drink tonic water; I do every night before I go to bed. It really does work. Furthermore, keep some by your bedside, just in case.

I was conducting a two-hour choral rehearsal, yesterday, then the music for a 2 hour church service. I would not have survived without my bottle of tonic water. Essential!

Members need to know, however, that some people can be extremely sensitive to quinine, so much so that the FDA banned the use of quinine for leg cramps back in 1994. "The agency decided that quinine was too dangerous for people to take without medical supervision."

Yes I was given quinine for cramps in 1990 and after just one tablet I nearly fell down the stairs as felt so dizzy. I was told never to have it again and not to drink tonic water. It's great if you don't have a reaction to it

..even if you don't have a reaction, important to NOT start drinking bottles of tonic water as though they were just like any flavoured water..

A little may be a benefit, avoid lots.

Is it the quinine in it that helps with cramp because if not, there are quinine-free tonics available

It's the quinine :(

I’m certainly not suggesting ‘lots’. A glass before bed is plenty.
