What are your thoughts on Pemgarda. Is anyone getting it? Good idea or bad?
per my cll Doctor he said not to take it. Not enough is known about its side effects.
I am traveling and would like some extra protection if I could. Other sites are saying definitely take it. I understand that it is always a decision made between you and your Doctor. Definitely feeling differently on this.
Thank you!

Apparently anaphylaxis is a rare but possible risk of the one hour infusion, so IMO I would only take it in a medical facility that has an Emergency Room and ability to treat if a severe anaphylaxis complication arises.
But on the other hand, we know that COVID-19 can cause severe and long term damage to our lungs that can be fatal.
My non medical take is: a short term, controllable risk & treatments (Pemgarda), vs. a long term risk with few to no effective treatments after an infection becomes significant (COVID-19)
I had 2 doses of Pemgarda in the Canopy trial with no side effects and I haven’t had covid. It’s given by infusion, the protection lasts 3 months, and it is effective against the latest variants.
