My husband was diagnosed last year at age 83 with CLL. He had been doing well, not yet on any treatment and at his last appointment last month, his Dr. said she did not need to see him for 6 months. Lately, his energy level has gone down considerably and he plans to make an appointment with this Dr. regarding it. My question is, has anyone here been diagnosed in their 80's?

Cll and age of diagnosis
I think 70 is the avg. mean but I see many on here that are much younger than that.
The USA's "SEER Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program provides information on cancer statistics in an effort to reduce the cancer burden among the U.S. population" website, gives you the information you needseer.cancer.gov/statfacts/h...

diagnosed 4/5 years ago at 79 then after a year got anaemia treated with steroids and then Rituximab drip. Eventually put on Acalabrutinab tablets and at 83 been on remission for 6 months. fatigue part of the problem not sure because of medication or CLL. You live with it and pace yourself. Regular blood tests may indicate lack of iron hence fatigue so may need tablets
diagnosed with CLL at 79 and Simon th later went on treatment of B&R. Wa in remission for 3 years an. At 83 transformed to primary B cell diffuse lymphoma. Yesterday I finished 6 rounds of R -CHOP treatment. Now I wait for a pet scan in August to see if it works. I look at it as a benefit that I contacted late in life as I look at the younger people getting there I fusions. Good luck to both of you.
