I was diagnosed with Cll 2014. Now have high ALC count 55 but still on watch and wait. Recently I have developed a persistent bitter taste in my mouth…..very unpleasant. No problems with teeth or gums as regular cheeks with dentist. I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and if so was there any treatment that helped. Thank you

New symptom bitter taste in mouth on watch and wait
Hi Terryjb,
I searched our archives and found only 7 other mentions of bitter taste out of 38,551 past postings here: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
There might be a few useful suggestions there.

However I suspect there is another cause, instead of your CLL. Please remember that our immune system is disrupted and often allows odd infections and frequent auto immune reactions in many of us.

Have you had any issues with heartburn or acid reflux?
hello …..fortunately not ….but thanks for the suggestion
Just wanted to add - I had a "salty" taste in my mouth for several months and could not figure out why. I finally ran out of my post-pandemic (?) hoarded coffee brand - and tried another brand. Salty taste gone! There was no salt added to the coffee per the ingredients but something about that brand or how it was processed - left a salty taste to me. We have to be detectives sometimes to figure out what the true cause of a symptom is. Hope you find out what is affecting your taste.
