There is an entire medical specialty that addresses those pains (I went through a similar type of issues in 2018 & 19)
I went to a Physiatrist at a major hospital who did CT & MRI scans and prescribed Physical Therapy. After 6 months with some improvement they moved me on to a pain management specialist for xray guided injections which helped temporarily. Then on to spinal surgeon specialists and had a laminectomy. After recovery and far more PT I was better but still had some issues, so rinse and repeat with Physiatrist, PT, pain management and a 2nd surgery called ALIF. Today, as long as I do my PT exercises 3+ times per week, I have no pain and full ability walk any distance, do household maintenance, yard work etc. without limits other than normal fatigue.
It's a long journey but it works if you follow all the steps. IMO Chiropractors are NOT a shortcut to the procedural steps above, and trying to go directly for surgery is also not wise.
I am never had this pain all my lifeI can tell you it started two or three month after car accident.
I went back to the gym with heavy lifting I thought I was fine the time I went back for exercise. Every day during exercise I felt pain in my chest and ribs now the pain became chronic and only the right side of my chest and right middle back.
I am suffering in the day but at night I sleep good with out any pain
Don't do exercise when you feel pain. It will only get worse. Do exercise but find a way to not feel pain during it. About a decade ago I felt pain in my left elbow when I did pull ups. I found that when I do an alternate grip, that is an upper grip with my right hand and lower grip with my left hand I do not feel pain and I can do pull-ups on a pull-up bar. People in the gym asked whether I had a specific reason for this grip and is it better than the other ones. I told them I did and it is. My elbow doesn't hurt with this grip 😁. I trained this way for about a year. Then I graduated to gymnastic rings. Now I do pull-ups on rings and can change the rotation of the wrists and arms to whatever feels most comfortable. Even during an active pull. Sometimes my left shoulder hurts. I still train it but as soon as I feel the pain I change the exercise. If I can't train without pain I stop. That's what I would recommend.
I have Waldenstroms since 2016. Started treatment about 3 years ago. Got put on Ibrutinib a few months back. Had fairly bad side effects of muscle & arthritic pain. About 3 months ago developed upper right back pain, sometimes extending to bottom of my ribs and a little in my neck too. Ibrutinib has recently been switched to zanubrutinib, but my back pain problems persists. Made worse with certain movements, exercise generally it seems. Absolute bed rest seems to help temporarily. After 3 months of being able to do very little, I'm fed up & frustrated. Seeing a GP again today. Parecetamol is not a solution 😬 My back seems to crack & crunch around where the pain is. At 68 Im normally pretty active walking some, swimming & kayaking.I'll be interested if you find a solution!
Hi Karate - sorry to hear about your continuing pains! I'm 67, have had CLL for 5-10 years, have Type 1 Diabetes, and 2 partially blocked arteries, so I know about pains! 2 things I would suggest : 1) have your Oncologist run another complete blood panel to see where your red & white levels are. If you Hemoglobin is below 9 and your Platelets are below 100, you could be experiencing some anemia. This is what CLL did to me & forced me (finally) into a treatment protocol. Anemia can cause you to have shortness of breath & for me, it also caused the same types of chest / middle of the back pains you discuss. Obviously, the 2nd thing I'd do is contact a Cardiologist and have them run a "Pet Scan" or do a nuclear stress test. It won't hurt for you to see exactly where your arteries are in this pain process. IF you have any paritally clogged arteries near or in your heart, the time to find out about them is now, while you're healthy enough to deal with the consequences.
You didn't mention anything about your diet. I can tell you 1st hand that the proper & NECESSARY changes to your diet will do wonders for every health aspect & problem you are having to deal with.
Let us all know what you decide to do & post the results. I'd be very interested to know if any of your pains are being caused by a change in your blood counts, anemia, or cardiovascular issues.
Wbc 80000 because I had flu vaccine hour before the blood test and the same day I had three lymph nodes in the bottom of my right neck from the flu vaccine and now they are all gone
My diet it wasn't good because some times I eat cakes, bread, pastas , yogurts, bef sausage.I don't drink alcohol,I don't smoke, no sauda no sugar I use honey sometimes.
I'm very sorry to hear of your pain. It is very stressful to be in such severe, constant pain. You have been suffering a lot for such a long time.... I hope that something will shift very soon and your back and ribs will start to feel better. Please rest well and renew your strength and spirit!
HI Karate; Read your replies. Interesting to see your Platelet # at 238 with your WBC @ 80K? CLL "should" eventually drive down the Platelet & Hemoglobin #s - especially if the white count remains that high. Was that a typo? Was your white count 8K or 80K?? CLL will drive the WBC #'s way up, so that's not out of character for this disease.
I would suggest you seek out a nutritionist, though. As you've probably heard "you are what you eat". The best way to start feeling healthy (and maybe help address your pains) is to eat healthy. Cakes, breads, pasta, sausage of any kind - these foods are either high in carbs & calorie content or the wrong kind of fats.
I lost 30 lbs over the course of 6 months simply by changing what I was eating. I reduced the amount of insulin I was having to ingest via my pump by 50% (FIFTY PERCENT!!), which slowed the chemical reactions causing my cholesterol to glue themselves to my arteries - that was what was causing my back pains - the pain was coming from my heart & I was felling that pain in my middle back area.
This is probably not your problem, but diet is or should be everyone's concern - especially if you're dealing with any underlying issues like CLL! Good luck in your hunt to find out what's going on. My only other suggestion would be to go to a specialty clinic like the Mayo or Anderson - this is where you'll find the smartest, most talented & dedicated group of people addressing diseases like CLL.
