Hi Tomich1949,

I've had several different time periods when I had low iron.
Supplements can work, there are several different forms / chemistries available OTC (over the counter) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_...

At one point I took supplements for 6 months, but was not able to get my iron level up to normal range, so while I was in for a Rituxan infusion they added a "bag" of iron to the infusion. That zoomed me up to the upper normal range and I have stayed there ever since.

Low iron should not be caused by your CLL or Ibrutinib. A cause needs to be found. The most common sources of low iron is blood loss from the GI track or heavy menstruation. Poor intake or absorption is possible too. I would not recommend only treating with iron supplements without knowing why you have it.
yes, I was diagnosed with low iron………I am a user of Ibrutinib . Since I had an iron infusion 2 months ago all has been well. John Shone. Wiltshire
Been on Imbrutinib for 7 years. Did not have low iron levels until a hemorrhaging bladder in year 6. Once the bleeding stopped the iron level recovered with the help of Ferix-50 initially. Stopped supplementation when levels reached normal.
