I had one last week, dont know the results yet.
I asked the technician if I could play the piano straight away after the scan.
She gave me one of those looks, and walked off to her position behind the screen.

Could you play the piano before the scan?
I’m a pianist, and when I have to hold my breath during a scan, I play Chopin in my head!
That’s funny because when I have had PET/CT scans and they give me a time frame I sing songs in my head. I estimate about 3 minutes per song and that helps me to keep up with the time and also helps me keep my mind on something besides the test!
Apparently the tech was old enough to know that joke. I feel very much like my parents when I make an "old timey" reference or joke to the "kids" that are in the medical field these days. They have no clue what the heck I am talking about but humor me anyway ....😂
My favourite kind of technician is the sort that would reply:
Play the piano? Only when you’re Brahms and Liszt 🍻
When I first had a visibly bulky neck from enlarged lymph nodes- I told the nurse treating me ” I guess that’s the end of my neck modelling days” Nurse: Ooooh are you a neck model? 😂
