People may have better suggestions if they know what drug it is. If it is for a CLL directed treatment there are sometimes resources to help. If this is the case have you looked at clinical trials? Some provide the drugs for free. This is the only way I get zanubrutinib right now. It is not on my formulary.
Where are you geographically? I am assuming you are in the USA. If not, tell me and I will delete my post.
Are you on Medicare? Are you younger and using private insurance? These answers can help people answer you.
When I was first getting treatment almost 6 years ago, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society helped me pay for the pharmacy treatments and provided valuable information. You can find out more about them at lls.org. Best of luck, Jim
If your oncologists office has a financial navigator then work with them to find out what help is available. I’m sure there are grants available. No one usually pays the full price. Hope this helps.
Thank you. I called about a grant and they covered all my meds for the nxt 9 months of treatments. Unbelievable! Praise God! I almost cannot believe it!😆
Hi Rick: I started with a grant and went through the money. I am on Acalabrutinib and my financial navigator applied to the maker of Calquence/Acalabrutinib and now I get free medication from Astra Zeneca as long as I keep my income under a certain amount. The drug makers also have financial programs. This is a handy back up to your grant. Hope this helps!
VenO and VenR, income under $150k.

Hi Rick, go to the cll society website today. They have info on applying to the PAN Foundation for financial assistance. I just did it today and I do qualify...needless to say I am elated. Good luck!
