I’m addressing seoul1949 here.
First diagnosed with CLL in 2002 and then more recently with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Over the last five years I’ve had two fairly intensive bouts of chemotherapy: ABVD and COP followed up by radiation. Recent check-up about a month ago at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto indicated that I was still in remission from both since 2020.
Obviously thankful for the remission at this point but I do wish my haematologist-oncologist warned me more dramatically of the possible side effects. I now have moderate heart disease, neuropathy in my feet, have lost my sense of taste and smell and am now experiencing balance problems - primarily I am sure, as are my medical handlers, because the above therapies. I say « primarily « because I am 81 years old and admit that age is probably taking its natural course as well.
Bottom line here: be aware of the possible side effects and do some research yourself - as I’m sure you’re doing anyway.
