Morning, this is my first post. I have been on W&W for 10 years with slowly deteriorating bloods but have been battling heart issues in the meantime. I am 60 and very fit but had an ablation of the heart 6 years ago for an irregular heart beat, multi pulmonary embolisms a few weeks ago and an attack of atrial fibrillation in June lasting 3 days at 140bpm.

My AF meds are fantastic, flecanide being taken at 100mg twice a day. Perhaps taking these daily may better control these worrying side affects for you? I do hope so. I now also have to take blood thinners and beta blockers. I am hoping there are some CLL treatments that do not affect the heart for both our sakes!

None to date. Started in June. I actually had a pulmonary embolism 2 weeks ago to add to my woes and trying to work out where the clots came from, could be the AF or something else! More likely a rowing machine!

I was on V+O until February this year. I decided to go that route because of Afib episodes I had on Ibrutinib. I 've been on a beta blocker for years now but only baby aspirin thus far. I just started having irregular heartbeats very regularly and trying to figure out why!

Its frustrating because currently I'm in remission and off all meds but still having these heart palpitations all the time. I wondered about flecanide in case I can't get these heart issues under control. Thanks for the info, I hope you find relief soon! It's definitely a mental game when it comes to your heart.

I would suggest that your irregular heartbeat needs to be medically assessed as a matter of some urgency. It may not be anything serious. A couple of months I was very bothered by skipped heartbeats. I had a 24 hour ECG monitor organised by a cardiologist. The diagnosis was that the irregular rhythm was caused by acute stress (the death of my stepfather, who I was close to). My heartbeat has now settled down.

Thank you ornstin. I was placed on a 48 hour heart monitor and am waiting to hear the results. I have been under considerable stress so I am thinking this also might be my issue. Glad to hear yours resolved and hope mine do soon as well.
