I had a CT done and they saw this Borderline prominent lymph nodes in the right neck with transverse measurements of 1.2 cm at level Ib and 1.1 cm at level IIa. Should I be scared?

Hi

My recommendation is to watch it. If it progresses in size, then intervention may be warranted.

I recently had a 2.8 cm lymph node near my neck at the surface removed. Last August it was identified by my GP at 1.5 cm. So, it almost doubled in size in 9 months. It became uncomfortable to sleep on that side and it was painful when driving because the seat belt was on top of it.

Good luck!

Alan

I see a ENT on Thursday I wonder if it’s because swelling of my adenoid

Remember that nodes are part of your lymphatic system (and adenoids are also lymphatic tissue). As I mentioned earlier, nodes swell and shrink with infections.

so probably my adenoids are infected then I had really bad acid reflux’s couple weeks ago.

That's probably more likely than leukaemia/lymphoma, which is actually a fairly rare diagnosis. Typically a doctor might see half a dozen cases in their entire career.

sorry I mean I had acid reflux first and then I went to urgent care where they told me that my adenoids are swollen. So it’s probably because of the swollen adenoids.

I was first diagnosed over 5 years ago. The ENT doctor ran a TV camera down through my nose to examine my adenoids. They were already swollen and have remained so. I believe that was part of his lymphoma diagnosis? I start Zanabrutinib in early August. But otherwise very healthy. I switched to a no meat, non dairy and no egg diet 11+ months ago. It may have helped. I think it has but have no way to know for sure.

Best of luck, it’s a long battle.

did the camera in the nose hurt at all they just found my swollen adenoids everything started from acid reflux.

no it did not hurt at all. Piece of cake. There is a TV screen so you can see what they see. Piece of cake.

I had acid reflux too. Zantac and Prilosec took care of it. Then I lost weigh and it went away. I advise you stay away from spicy food too.

Best of luck.

Keep getting whispers to go no-dairy. Such a hard idea, as I have lived on dairy, love dairy. Recently been trying to cut it back as a start. Will be interested in what changes if any you see from diet.

you can start with Almond milk, margarine and SO coconut milk ice cream. You will not miss it as much as you think. There is also SO yogurt, non-dairy, using coconut milk too. Lots of options out there. There are also lots of plant based options for egg products, Just Eggs, and plant based meat like products. Guardini makes delicious plant based meatball I eat in spaghetti. As a side benefit I have also lost some weight without really trying.

Best of luck!

Thanks, yes, I've been using almond milk for years. But it's the cheese, yummy every day cheddar plus occasion to-die-for camembert. I have been putting cheddar or mozzarella or some cheese on so many ofmy foods -- broccoli, for example -- in addition to adding it to veggie burgers, etc etc. It's just been more or less the skeleton of my diet!

The pathology report stated the diagnosis as SLL - small lymphocytic lymphoma. This diagnosis was consistent with the diagnosis from a 6.3 cm lymph node that was removed from my armpit 3.5 years ago. At that time there were 5 additional enlarged lymph nodes in the armpit and sub pectoral areas that were treated with radiation and Rituxan. No treatment needed now - just active surveillance.

Hi, I see that you have just joined our community. I'm guessing that you don't have a diagnosis of leukaemia or lymphoma and have just joined our community to ask about your concern?

For context, a nominal normal node size is about 1cm across and we have around 600 nodes. The trigger for treatment for CLL is when any nodes exceed 10cm in the longest dimension. Nodes wax and wane with infections and vaccinations, but sometimes they don't fully shrink back, with the common reason given being scar tissue. One of the "risks" of having CT scans, is finding things many people have, unbeknownst to them, but after causing anxiety and sometimes additional testing (not without risk), plus cost and time, often turn out to be inconsequential.

What did the radiologist's report say and what does your doctor say? Please appreciate that we can't give medical advice.

the doctor is sending me to a ENT because of swelling of my adenoid and I did have anxiety also that day. I wonder if it’s from the swelling from the adenoid?
