Oh Happy Days - New Oncologist🎉🎉🎉

For these last 9 months I haven’t had a real Oncologist. It was so encouraging to finally have one that sees & hears me. She said 1/2 dose of Acalabrutinib was a very wise decision since my numbers dropped so low 76->50 Hgb 10.8->9.2 WBC 81->55. Well today My Plts 94 Hgb 11.1 WBC 61. She said we could see how things look in 2 weeks & if we decide to increase the dose then she’ll see me weekly. I am so happy to have a competent & caring doctor. She seemed very tired but we had clear communication. The muscle pain side effect is a big consideration because I can barely handle my Activities of Daily Living now so double the dose & I won’t be able to care for myself. I said that ending up in the ER is not acceptable either & she agreed. We are on the same page Hallelujah 🙌🏾 I feel safe & protected now & well at least I don’t have to play patient & doctor anymore🤦🏽‍♀️

Yes, she looks like she has to take up the slack for him, the toddler. She was able to make statements & back them up with my labs & not be a parrot repeating the drug manufacturers insert. She seen & heard me & that alone was big. Yes I will use our time wisely & get her best recommendation of who I should see next😞
