Abdominal fat with cll

Hi. I am on Ibrutinib for cll for last 2 years. Bloods show good response. My question is related to the fact that I have in last 6 months put on a lot of weight in mainly my abdomen. Not much extra fat elsewhere on body. Could this be a side effect of the meds or could it be cll nodes becoming fatty and hiding cll cells. Could it be cll is metatastizing. Any views welcome.

Hi Timree,

Here is a list of the previous 244 posts that mentioned weight gain. healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

it appears that several mention a BTKi like Ibrutinib, Acalabrutinib etc.

Regarding metastasizing, since CLL is already circulating everywhere in your body, that term is not normally used in CLL, since unlike solid cancers, the CLL does not change from a single site to spreading further. The terms usually mentioned when CLL gets worse is progression or transformation.
