Top article on CRISPR, bottom on BMF-219.
Does the second article (scroll down to find it), about BMF-219, mean anything to anybody? Does it refer to a treatment that has a more-common name these days?

The BMF study started in January of this year, in other cancers. So while the top article may be a year old, the BMF one was posted Nov 1 2022, just a few days ago. There was a presentation at ASCO this summer past, and the first CLL patient started a few weeks ago. Since this is a Phase 1, we will have to wait a bit to see if it's effective. They are seeking 120 patients by Jan 2024, so it probably will be a while until we see more information, unless preliminary results after 60-odd patients all have favorable outcomes with few side effects. Usually, waiting for the "100 patients worth of data" is done because it *is* possible that a run of 50 people in a row have great results....and the next 50 have no effect. Not common, but possible.
IDK why they are expanding this to CLL. Perhaps that patient and many other CLL patients have the mutations this drug is targeting, in addition to other ones that give that person a tecnical diagnosis of CLL, even if they have some mutations common to ALL and AML. I am not familiar with the mutations referred to in the study, and how "menin inhibitors" may work against CLL.
