Hi CM19,

You haven't posted previously, so I haven't any baseline info to see where you are coming from. 118 is an adequate platelet count and platelet counts can bounce around. I suggest waiting for your next set of blood test results before becoming concerned, particularlyif that's the only symptom you have.

thank you! All other blood work appears normal at this time. Trend maybe going in the direction of treatment again soon but seeing dr and will be able to get a game plan together if that's the case. It can just get a little overwhelming at times.

Thank you again!

I’ve not paused venetoclax and got back on it. But in the back of head, my memory fading with age, I remember reading somewhere that people who stop ibrutinib or venetoclax not due to resistance, can rechallenge with the same drug with success.

I know without a citation, that’s probably not too helpful. But it’s reasonable to think that if someone’s Cll comes back, and they didn’t stop the med due to resistance, that they ought to be able to rechallenge with the same med.

I think it will depend on the person and how stable or unstable their Cll is. But I do think, from what I read that, those people who stop venetoclax not due to resistance ought to be able to get back on it. For how long? No one knows because it’s such a new drug. We do know that resistance is an issue with most all Cll drugs and the degree of resistance relates to whether our Cll is slow moving, aggressive or somewhere in between.

thank you! I hope venetoclax can be used again if and when treatment is needed again.

Thank you!!

My husband just came off the venetoclax and I do remember his oncologist saying that it was an option in the future. As other commenters have stated, I would think that it would depend on any changes in your disease and also, if there are possibly better options.
