I contracted Covid a few days ago after getting Evusheld twice... the last 300mg just about 2 weeks ago. I think one should not get complacent with Evusheld. It is not foolproof obviously and lessens severity I assume but does not prevent infection. I got Pavloxid which I suppose (lower dose because of impaired kidney function) is helping. I had no antibodies from 4 vaccines (Ibrutinib). Also had Regeneron. I'm going back to the mask. My Covid is like a bad cold thus far and I am on the mend. This may have been a good warning not to get complacent. I have no idea how I contracted Covid. Note..stop Ibrutinib if you take Paxlovid...don't take at the same time.

Thanks for the warning. This pandemic has not gone away, no matter what politicians say. The US is still losing about 3,000 per week to COVID-19 - a 9/11 loss weekly and the UK about 600 per week.
We need to consider Evusheld as a fairly effective barrier in the Swiss cheese risk reduction process, but the other layers still have their place, See: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swi...

I never left my mask. People are going down with covid again left and right here.
I received the new bivalent Moderna booster last week - hoping maybe to get some antibodies this time around. I still plan on getting my second Evushield shots next month. I don’t expect the antibodies to prevent getting Covid, but I’m hopeful it will lessen the severity if I do get it. I also wear a mask when I go anywhere indoors.
Where I am in NJ, the reported numbers are way down - I assume due to home test results not going to a central database. Several times a week I hear of another friend, or friend’s relative, or friend of a friend having a new case of Covid. It is still everywhere around here and the weather is still beautiful with people spending time outdoors. I shudder to think of what the cooler weather will bring.
People traveling seem to be at a much higher risk. I know of 7 relatives who caught Covid while traveling. Possibly 8. My daughter recently went on a vacation with three others. One just tested positive this morning. She has a scratchy throat and is worried she has it again.
So I am trying to vicariously live through others photos of their travel. Sigh.
These photos keep popping up on Facebook from 4 years ago when we traveled to France for a bike tour. We had a really fun time on that trip. Hard to imagine doing now.
I had Evusheld in June and test positive for COVID last week. I never stopped being cautious and have no idea how I got it. Fortunately my symptoms are mild, sinus congestion, cough, loss of appetite and increased fatigue beyond my everyday fatigue from CLL. I really think the Evusheld helped. Take care!
