We are saddened at the death of our beloved Queen who has been a positive and enduring presence in our lives for 70 years.

Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and His Majesty, the King.

Beautiful words and a beautiful picture that was chosen to go with them as well.

My sincerest condolences to all of our friends here from the U.K.

Debbie in the U.S.

Thank you Jackie,

And as Debs said what a beautiful photograph.

As so many people recently said, and although she was much older than me, I assumed she would go on forever and outlive me.

A sad couple of days.

I'm certain that many will agree with the first sentence from The Conversation: "We all knew it was coming, but it was a shock nevertheless - such was Queen Elizabeth II’s resilience and devotion to duty she seemed well capable of living forever. But in the early hours of Friday morning, Australian time, came the news the 96-year-old monarch had died peacefully at Balmoral, and with that, King Charles III has become Australia’s head of state."

The most obvious change for Australians, is that we will see a gradual change in our currency, with a portrait image of King Charles III appearing on the back of our coins and on our lowest denomination ($5) bank note.

King Charles III is a strong supporter of alternative medicine, which will be interesting to watch.

The French President's statement about Queen Elizabeth II and France

High praise indeed!

Loved the choice of the Queen's picture. She is all most of us in America have ever known of a British Monarch. We change leaders every 4 to 6 years but cannot imagine losing a leader of her quality after 70+ years.

Such a beautiful picture of a woman so devoted to all the best a queen could embody. My condolances to all in the Kingdom she represented.

The Queen was an outstanding ambassador of the highest human character, and an example of charitable humility.

Beautiful Portrait Photograph!

Thank You Jackie,

My parents were both one year younger than Queen Elizabeth and when they shared their stories of their experiences in WWII, they always mentioned how impressed they were that the Royal family stayed in London during the darkest days of the war. Alongside the descriptions of their Victory Garden, collecting metal, black-out curtains in Lansing, Michigan US, they felt a e’spirit de corps with the Queen and her family. Carolyn Matzinger

My condolences to you and all the people in Great Britain. Your Queen was admired throughout the world. I remember watching her coronation on television. Our teacher let us go home from school to see it on tv if we had one. I'd glad we did. My mother and I watched it. I've tried to follow her ever since and I cried when I heard the news of her passing. God Bless and keep her.

I echo Debbie's sentiments, as well. ❤️

There is definitely a feeling of loss, even as an American living on the other side of the pond. It feels like being pushed into the future and into the future is not a place I'm so sure I want to go.

Queen Elizabeth may not have been our Queen but we certainly grew up with her.

Today is 9/11 and on television it showed the videoclip where the Queen broke tradition and had the palace play our national anthem in solidarity.

I saw that too, it was so moving. I've been thinking a lot about the Queen's words that were quoted by President Biden today:

"Grief is the price we pay for love".
