Evusheld Authorized for Use in Canada

Health Canada approved use of Evusheld for the immune compromised this morning. The Canadian government had already ordered 100,000 doses prior to approval.

How it will be distributed and allocated by provincial governments will be the big question. The devil is always in the details.

This is certainly good news for Canadians it has been difficult reading how readily available options are in other countries. It seems at least here in Ontario they are finally getting the distribution of Paxlovid figured out really hoping Evusheld is not far behind 😀

Bravo, finally. I too have been waiting for the approval for so long. Unfortunately I just took a rapid Antigine test on Saturday and it showed positive. WIll be going into the hospital for infusion treatment 3 days in a row to ward off landing up with horrible consequences.

Sorry to hear you have caught the virus. What are they going to infuse you with?

Why didn’t they go with Paxlovid

Just asking because I too am on a BTK inhibitor but I thought if I got infected they would just ask me to hold it for 5 days while taking Paxlovid.

I understand some of the infused drugs don’t work on the Omnicron variant

Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Heather
