Is there any hint that the NHS will disallow Sotrovimab treatment which the U.S FDA has now done for all of the U.S.?
Thanks!,

It is helpful to give a link for any change you suggest has been officially made. Thanks for the heads up.
Here are related announcements:
I was under the impression that BA.2 is resistant to Sotrovimab. I don’t have a reference as the US Covid effort seems to be lost and floundering these days.
No idea about UK but in my province in Canada (Saskatchewan) the government just changed policy to discontinue sotrovimab use effective today because they claim it has been shown to be less effective against BA2 - but on the covid19 website, they don’t provide a link to any evidence to support the claim. Paxlovid is still being used.
From what I can see I don't think Sotrovimab is approved by NICE , the Web site is unclear
I got infected with Covid twice. 1st infection I got Paxlovid, and 2nd was the Antibodies.
😳
MF,
I’m glad that you’re okay. You wrote a post that you got Paxlovid only 25 days ago and you already caught it again? Bad luck I guess.
Did you ever test negative between infections?
Jeff
Had Sotrovimab a month ago. Kept me home with a bad cold, no hospital, so have to think it worked for me. Very thankful.
Thanks!Currently in a tiny U.S. study with Sotrovimab to see if it will provide prophylactic protection against Omicron BA.2, similar to Evusheld.
We do not know anyone in this study which is no longer recruiting.
The study is currently reconfiguring because the FDA banned treatment with Sotrovimab when BA.2 became dominant. Canada has banned it too.
Also, the company’s “lab” results suggest Sotrovimab is weaker against BA.2.
* Nevertheless, Sotrovimab continues as an effective early treatment in the UK and Ireland.
Glad it worked well for you!

I received Sotrovimab the last day of March and was so disappointed 2 days later when I heard it was being “paused”. However it certainly helped me and I’m told either I didnt have the BA2 variant or it is effective after all. Anyway it did work for me as I am extremely compromised and although my “cold” lasted 3 weeks, I was very relieved.
Now I’m waiting for Evusheld or any prophylactic to be available!😀. I am in Vancouver Canada BYW.
