Hi guys contracted Covid 2 days ago seemed ok until now . Can’t sleep due to the sorest throat I’ve ever experienced. Don’t really have the eagerly to be writing on here. Is this all normal ? I’m still in watch and wait but due to start meds soon as spleen is enormously huge and bloods are nearly doubling every 6 months . Hope I’ll be ok?

I gargled with BR Rinse that You can order it on Amazon. Also, warm salt water rinses. I took Tylenol for my discomfort.

Have you made your specialist aware of your Covid Driver? If your temp is running so high and you’re feeling very unwell, I think you should contact medical services. I’m not sure what’s available to you in NZ but please enquire.Hope you feel better soon.

Hi , thanks for the reply , it’s 4am here in the morning and I have an oxy meter and when it reads certain readings that are not good the only thing I can do at this time is call an ambulance . I took some Panadol and seems to be working a little

That’s because the paracetamol will reduce the temp but if your oxygen levels are running low, you need to seek advice. You’re at the point of needing treatment so your immune system may be under significant stress. Seek advice please. Do you have the equivalent of our 111 service there for medical advice or an out of hours doctor service?

Yes please seek advice but if you continue to deteriorate, don’t be afraid to ring for an ambulance particularly if your oxygen sats fall. Good luck! Let us know how you go.

Head in the clouds may be the low oxygen level. Anything under 90 is a concern, under 88 call an ambulance. Covid attacks the lungs, hence low oxygen.

Please go to urgent care now if your oxygen is low. Better to laugh about an overreaction than cry because you waited too long. Not Covid related, but my neighbor fell a few weeks ago and couldn't get up. She refused to call for help (there was easy access) and in fact told her husband not to. It was a daily helper who found her the next AM and overrode her, calling an ambulance despite her protests. Since she didn't get help for her stroke immediately, the docs aren't optimistic she will regain much of the function she lost on her left side. Had she gotten help quickly, her outcome might have been better. Instead her daughter is seeking out care facilities and she may never live in her home again, she now needs 24/7 care.

It's a pain to call for urgent help in the middle of the night/when regular hours are so close, but please do it. Call the ambulance. Please don't wait.

Hi Driver,I am concerned about your very high temp and poor oxygen levels. I know it is very early in the morning there, but I think it would be wise to seek immediate care as Newdawn suggested by calling for an ambulance. The sooner you get appropriate treatment, the sooner you will start to recover. Please let us know how you are doing when you are feeling able to post an update.

Best of luck to you,

Nan

I am sorry, it’s horrible to have this dilemma in the middle of the night, but you do need to be your own advocate. Please let us know how you are getting on.Chrisx

I got Covid last week. Worst sore throat ever lasted 2 days then went

Covid has a entire range of symptoms, sore throat being one. Do you access to Antivirals (UK do)? Keep an on the symptoms and it may be worth keeping an eye on your oxygen stats. Anything below 93% needs watching carefully. You can buy pulse oximeter reasonably cheaply.

Hello, no we dont have access to Antivirals here in NZ, starting to feel abit better and oximeter i have is a new pulse one. Reading 96 to 98% at present.
