Presently taking Calquence for lymphoma. Also having pains in lower stomach area. Can I take ranitidine while taking Calquence?

A couple of years ago, there were rantidine recalls due to contamination with an impurity called N‑nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA):

Australia has accordingly suspended ranitidine registrations:

I was prescribed famotidine in place of omeprazole (losec) when on my clinical trial which included Calquence. Even the famotidine was rationed back then due to the ranitidine recalls. It's not as effective as omeprazole either.

I am on Calquence and was on a PPI for Acid Reflux prior to treatment. It was challenging to find the balance of meds that would keep the reflux under control once I started the Calquence. I am on famotidine, TUMS, and most importantly, changed my diet and lost weight. I use a product called Orange Burps (Amazon) for any break through reflux if I deviate with my diet. I am due for an endoscopy to see if the reflux has caused any issues in my esophagus. The ENT said we should do this every couple of years to keep an eye on any reflux damage. This is an abundance of caution procedure since CLLers are prone to secondary cancers. Best of luck to you - it has been the most challenging part of my treatment but we found a work around to PPI's.
