Checking lymph glands

My haematologist has now moved to telephone consultation following the pandemic. I am fine with this, except that in face-to-face consultation he/she would always check my lymph glands and obviously this will no longer happen. I have heard that an osteopath will do this for me. Is this correct? Also, is lymphatic drainage advisable or should I avoid this?

I was twice advised that I would have a telephone consultation with the haematologist, but objected that my lymph nodes had swollen and I was concerned. The haematologist then said I should attend in person, which I did. I was reassured by her examination that no treatment was needed. Stand your ground! You need advice from a haematologist who has examined you.

Ideally, the lymph node checks are best done by the same person each time, as they don't all do it the same way.

I haven't heard of lymphatic drainage being done for CLL, but I am open to correction if anyone else knows differently. AFAIK, it's used to drain excess lymph fluid from the tissues, for example after surgical removal of lymph nodes.

Hi, I had swollen ankles a few years ago, and a session of manual lymph drainage [ medvspa.com/services/body-t... ] targeting the worse leg solved the problem in both legs in a matter of days, and it has never returned. It was performed by a physiotherapist, but it wasn't massage; rather, it was a technique known as lymphatic drainage massage which flushes out the toxins from your body. I am extremely pleased with the outcome!
