Help with test interpretation

I got a spike test a week after my Pfizer booster, having had my first one Jan 30 and second Jan 18. Since I had the test with routine blood work, I didn't wait the full two weeks. Here are the results:

COVID-19 Spike RBD, Ab23.30 U/mL

<0.80 U/mL

I need help knowing what this means. The PA said it showed I had "some" protection. I honestly think my oncologist was annoyed that she ordered the test as he doesn't want us changing our behavior.

So, is this a decent result, terrible? Just can't find anything out there.

Hi beanlake14,-

I would need to guess that your result was 23.3, and I see that is above the minimum value of <0.80 but I cannot see the maximum value - usually 250 or 2500.

But I also read that those are just the capabilities of the testing process and don't indicate what value is needed for immunity to contracting the virus.

In any event, no one has published any data yet to corrolate the results to a level of protection.

-

I'm attaching a screen shot of my result, and the dark bar makes the report easier to read, but I don't know if my 101 result is adequate or whether I would need a 250 to be protected from the virus.

Thank you. Think mine is pretty minimal.

Some response is better than none, but I wouldn't rely on the vaccine for protection.

You have some antibodies but nobody knows the level of protection they confer. Since there are not many of them, you are to remain extremely cautious. That's my take.
