A few people in this group tried that in order to get a stronger response.
I suggested it to my specialist before my third dose and while he said that it could theoretically help achieve a stronger response, he did not recommend it since I am still in my first year of Ibrutinib and he felt it would be too risky (said it would ideally be a three week pause which could potentially bring on negative effects). I would consult with your doctor before doing so.
My guess is this is not a one size fits all answer. My doctor paused my acalabrutinib for my booster as I have been on ibrutinib/acalabrutinib for several years now. I discussed the risk of a Cll flare while off acalabrutinib for a month and my doctor thought my labs have been stable long enough where a month off makes no difference.
Doctors for people just starting ibrutinib like Youngen might think a possible disease flare does not justify the potential benefit of being off btk drugs during their vaccine.
CLL patients taking Ibrutinib, should I also take a Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for COVID-19?
I just got my booster shot of Phizer?
