Hi Ron, It may help to edit your post to include more info about which guidelines from which government. Your profile does not mention a country. I saw your post from last week that referenced Scotland... so maybe you're in the UK? Covid cases are spreading fast in Scotland, so more info would be great.

Best wishes! 😀

I think my advice would be to do everything you can to protect yourself and everyone around you and not pay too much attention to government advisers, who don’t really seem to have a clue.Stay safe, Fran 😉

I had my semi-annual appointment at NIH last Friday. The covid advice they gave me was to continue to wear a mask and avoid crowds. As to a 3rd jab, they are not recommending it at this time inasmuch as the studies have not been completed yet. (It wouldn't suprise me though if in a month or two, they recommend a booster shot of the vaccine for those of us who have CLL.)

Interesting that in NZ the government spokesman indicated today that they are taking the same approach as the NHS, as you describe. Considering the need for booster shots in future planning but still assessing the data.

"As someone who is at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill if you were to catch COVID-19, you may wish to think particularly carefully about additional precautions you might wish to continue to take," the guidance says. This includes continuing to meet outdoors and asking friends and family to take lateral flow tests before visiting.

Latest ONS data show 29% of CEV people in England were continuing to shield, even after shielding was paused at the beginning of April.

Of CEV people who were not comfortable going into healthcare, hospitality, educational, or cultural settings, mandatory face covering was the most common measure that would help put them at ease.
