Hi there,I can hear the concern in your message but it's difficult to say anything without more information about the units that the result was reported in. Was it 1.44 x10/9 per L ?

Can I ask why you are concerned about lymphopenia?

This is a site for people with lymphocytic leukaemia where there is too many lymphocytes so we may not be able to assist. Her doctor is ultimately the person to discuss this result with as they have her full clinical picture and medical history.

Hi Katmeg,I see you just joined us today.

We are a patient support group for CLL Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, which is usually diagnosed when patients have lymphocytosis, with a ALC or Lymph # well above 5 k. So does your Mom have a diagnosis of CLL or SLL?

-

This link may provide you the reference ranges for general population,

cllsociety.org/toolbox/norm...

Lymphs# (ALC) Absolute Lymphocyte Count 1.00 -to- 4.80 x 10x9/L

-

But each lab and hospital has its own reference list, and nearly every patient portal and printed lab/blood report will include the reference ranges for their testing.

Thanks for the reply Katmeg, -

so with no CLL diagnosis, we hope you will defer from posting here, since some of our helpful members may give replies that assume you are dealing with a blood cancer.-

(BTW- the normal ranges of blood tests represent what that lab believes covers 95% of their popluation. Values outside that range alert the doctors to explore further and look for other signs or symptoms that might cause the variation. One value alone, slightly out of range is often just noted and the doctor will wait for the next few regular scheduled blood test to see if it is a pattern worth investigating).
