CLL and Covid vaccine

I’m wondering how many of you who have CLL have had anti-body tests after having Covid and what the results have been. I have major allergic reactions to many meds and I am still weighing out the advantages of getting a vaccine.

Hi Rivergoddess, -

This has been one of our most frequent discussions recently, and I could post numerous links for you to read. However here is a brief reply by cajunjeff

Is the question why should we take vaccines that might not fully protect us? It’s because the potential benefit far outweighs the risk. We will soon be at a half million deaths from covid in the US. The risk of dying, or indeed of any serious side effect to the vaccine, is near nil.

The brief version is that if you get vaccinated and have a reaction the doctors know exactly what to do to save your life.

But if you don't get vaccinated you might join our 530,000+ fatalities in the USA, since the doctors do NOT have treatments that work for every patient.

Sorry but the Mayo Clinic says both or your assertions are not true:mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-...

Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. These malaria drugs were authorized for emergency use by the FDA during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the FDA withdrew that authorization when data analysis showed that the drugs are not effective for treating COVID-19. They can also cause serious heart problems.

Is Hydroxychloroquine approved to treat the coronavirus disease?

No. Hydroxychloroquine sulfate and some versions of chloroquine phosphate are FDA-approved to treat malaria. Hydroxychloroquine sulfate is also FDA-approved to treat lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.Mar 1, 2021

These references go to show how wrong well intentioned doctors can be when they believed a treatment might help, but are later proven to have been prescribing HCQ to no benefit of their sick patients (or worse). I've searched for the reasoning and purpose behind the propagation (creation and maintenance) of these websites, and don't see any well-intentioned or helpful purpose. Actually, I see the opposite.
