You need to register on the government web site as you should be listed as clinically extremely vulnerable and thus get any help that is available.
If you`re not listed as such then chances are you will just have to wait for your age group to get your jab.
gov.uk/coronavirus-shieldin...
Hope that link works for you.....get your details on it and you should get letter and possibly a text as well. I was on watch and wait when I registered last year and have since got all the letters etc.
I`m 68 and had my first covid jab yesterday......text from gp told me to get date booked.
Hope this helps.......and also hope that you are shielding as best you can
Take care
Thank you ,, my GP is not terribly helpful and I thought because I’m not receiving treatment I might not be eligible
Further to nanasu's excellent reply my consultant rang me when covid ramped up again in December to say I must shield. I already was but had never chased an official letter. I emailed the GP and, while they said the consultant should have sorted it themselves, i got an official shielding letter within a week. This bumped me up from group 6 to group 4 for vaccination purposes and i got the first dose this week. My understanding from the govt website is any blood cancer should put you in group 4 automatically but it doesnt seem to necessarily follow if you dont chase it.
Hope you get sorted quickly
Your specialist should write to your GP for you to get the vaccine, at least that is what mine said he will do. I am also on W&W since January but have not heard anything yet from my GP about when I might get the vaccine
Hi thereI’m 59 and have been in W&W for 4 years or so. I have read through the vaccination info for vulnerable groups online and while leukaemia and lymphoma are there, it looks as if you need to be in treatment to be a priority? Am I misunderstanding?
I’ve not heard anything re covid vaccine yet, had to chase my GP for a flu jab last year so I’m unsure if I’ve fallen through a crack! I’m in Glasgow.
Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.
I’m getting so depressed by the situation,, you get told you have CLL and then it’s like off you go and nobody will help you , I wax hold to have a pneumonia jab but that is never available, tbh I’m just giving up with it all
Thanks for your reply Jane. I agree how frustrating it is and I have had the same experience when I asked about the pneumonia jab. Stay safe
Thanks Treetops at least you understand
Update ! I have the Covid vaccine booked for Thursday
