Good News for Xmas Day! Scientists trial drug to prevent infection that leads to Covid.

Antibody therapy could confer instant immunity. People living in households where someone has caught Covid could be injected with the drug to ensure they do not become infected too.

Maybe in use by March and especially useful for the vulnerable.

I felt really encouraged by this piece.

See article in Guardian tonight.

Seems it’s struck a nerve as I was posting a reply on the basis of it at the same time 😂 healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

Promising, especially for folks like us. Pre-exposure trial has double blinded placebo control arm. Should allow cross-over and unblinding. Also prevents one from being vaccinated, so I have problems with it and am formulating a strategy to best counsel them about the patient' need in their trial design. Stay strong, we are all in this together, Brian CLLSociety.org
